It was famously used by police divisions across the United States.

The Monaco was discontinued in 1978 due to poor sales, though Dodge decided to revive the line in 1990 with an entirely new layout and engine. It was also downsized from the full-sized Monacos of fame, though it was discontinued in 1992, again due to poor sales.
