The Ford Marauder was actually the Mercury Marauder, which is owned by the Ford Motor Company, and has been in production on-and-off from 1963 to 2004, when the latest line of vehicles was discontinued. The earliest Marauders were powered by a V8 engine and was a fastback hardtop, though in 1969 it became a much more distinct vehicle.

It was still a two door hardtop and was still powered by a V8 engine, but the second generation Marauder became a standalone model and competed primarily in the personal luxury market of automobiles. The third generation of vehicles was produced from 2003 to 2004 and featured many changes in design; the third generation of vehicles was much more of a sedan than its predecessors. The entire Marauder line was discontinued in 2004.
