The Toyota eCom was an electric vehicle that was first introduced by the Toyota Motor Corporation in 1997 at the Tokyo Motor Show. It was designed to be not just a small car but a solution to congestion as it was designed to be a great carpooling car despite its size. The eCom did not sell incredibly well despite being incredibly hyped in Japan. Toyota eventually scrapped the project and instead focused on the Toyota Prius, which was turned into a hybrid vehicle as opposed to an electric vehicle.
