Kansas is famous for being able to grow all kinds of crops. Wheat is the main crop the state produces. Kansas also produces a large amount of sunflowers partly due to the hot summers it has. There are two major interstate highways in Kansas if you’re traveling I-70, which travels east and west, and I-35 North and South. Wichita is the largest city with over 350,000 people. Overland Park is the second and Kansas City the third at about 150,000 people. Mark Parkinson is the state’s Governor. One of the things the Governor has done since being elected is he has tripled the amount of wind farms in the state.
There are many fun filled festivals all over the state including the Walnut Valley Bluegrass festival in September and the Fiesta Mexican in Topeka in July each year. Baker University is the first University of the state located in Baldwin City. Lawrence is home to the University of Kansas, which is the largest public university in the state. The Kansas City wizards are the major league soccer team and the Kansas City T-bones are the major league baseball team. Kansas has two hockey teams and a professional football team the Kansas Koyotes.
