Pittsburgh is home to 8 fortune 500 companies, which are; U.S. Steel, PPG Industries and H.J. Heinz. The largest private employer is Wal-Mart, which is usually the largest employer in most states. Pennsylvania’s largest manufacturing company is Merck.
