Orange County Auto Show: Off to a Smooth Start
Posted by admin in Auto Industry News, tags: auto industry, Auto shows, auto transport, auto transportation, automobile transport, automobile transportation, Orange CountySo far, the 2009 year has proved to be less than fruitful for the automotive industry. This is due to a number of problems the industry has experienced ranging from production losses and job losses, to having the Detroit Big Three – General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler – bailed out financially by the Government. In response to these catastrophic events, there were a number of policies implemented to assist in keeping the industry afloat. One example can be found within the CARS program. The Car Allowance Rebate System, also known as Cash-For-Clunkers, was aimed to help stimulate the struggling industry while also improving the environment by getting fuel inefficient vehicles off the road and replacing them with more environmentally friendly alternatives.
With all of this commotion it would seem as though the industry may never recover. That’s partly the reason it’s so refreshing to see that Auto Shows which showcase displays of new innovative technologies are still being planned, executed, and attended. Today, August 15th, 2009, starts the 2009 Orange County Auto Show at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim California. Being one of the bigger auto shows in the Country, the O.C. Auto Show will continue throughout the weekend. At the show there will be a plethora of event opportunities. These events will range from displaying new innovative technologies applied to concept and pre-production model vehicles, meeting famous people (such as MMA fighters and professional Poker players), to a meet and greet of the hit feature film Transformer’s “Bumblebee” life size Autobot model. There’s something for every member of the family, no matter their interest.
One of the more unique opportunities which will be available takes place on Saturday, October 17th, between 12 noon and 2 P.M., when you’ll be able to meet Scott Settlemire, also known as
“The F-bodfather”. This Manager of Chevrolet and Cadillac Shows and Exhibits will be available to discuss all things Camaro. Since September of 1966 when Settlemire first saw an actual Camaro, he has played an important role as a part of the Camaro/Corvette Performance Car Team developing the 4th Generation F-Car. Camaro enthusiasts will be able to compare the newer 2010 models with the vintage Camaros. Come discuss topics such as the changes which have emerged over the years helping to create the models you see on the road today, automobile transport, production lines, and the future of the F-Car.
The month of October can be enjoyed in a number of ways. This 2009 O.C. auto show is just one of them. Other ways include relaxation and observance of holidays such as Columbus Day and Halloween. Or, you could choose to observe the month long recognition of National Vegetable Month. Regardless as to whether you’re enjoying your candy or checking out your vegetable nutrition table, be sure you make some time to check out The O.C. Auto Show.
